HIGHRISE buildings up to 60m high will fund a $300 million facelift of Sydney’s south under an urban renewal plan being considered by Randwick City Council tonight.
Linked by Anzac Pde and dissecting the University of NSW, Kensington and Kingsford would be transformed into an innovation hub with new community centres, plazas and twice as many public spaces.
Highrises up to 60m or 18 storeys are proposed in three clusters along the spine, up from seven storeys currently permissible.
Maximum heights elsewhere on Anzac Pde would increase from two storeys to nine storeys.
