2017 Kingsford Chambers Achievements & Highlights

In 2017 as a Chamber we were proud to be part of many great events and initiatives in the area.

These include:

• Five Kingsford Businesses received awards in the Randwick City Business Awards for excellence, which was the largest number of winners within the City of Randwick.  Congratulations to all the winners especially the Kingsford Winners:
  • Greengables Children’s Day Care
  • The Juniors
  • Amber Tiles Kingsford
  • Kingsford Bus Stop Newsagency
  • Laing & Simmons – Kingsford
  • Niji Sushi Bar
• A fantastically successful Noodle Market with over 3000 attendees.
• Supported the 2018 Year of the dog Chinese New Year Celebrations
• Launched our new website with a fantastic business directory of the area
• Worked closely with the Randwick City Council to identify car parking issues due to the light rail construction and implemented solutions including more timed parking and increased parking times.
• Successfully worked with Angela Vithoulkas, Sydney City Councillor and Small Business Advocate to convince State Government/NSW Transport to assist with compensation for businesses affected by the Light Rail (Assistance now available)
• Arranged with the BEC to have the Business Bus which provides info for businesses, to come to Kingsford
• Partnered with Randwick City Council to address needs to assist local business during light rail construction
• Attending NSW Transport Business review committee meetings.
